On Thursday, November 4th at 12:00 PM “Behind the Light: The Extraordinary Life of Luca Comerio” will be presented within the Rome Video Game Lab Festival at Cinecittà Studios in Rome. It will also be possible to play the game through a dedicated station.
Developed by Vigamus Foundation and IDRA Interactive Studios from an original idea by Cineteca di Milano, Behind The Light will make players experience first-hand the adventurous life of Luca Comerio (1878-1940), famous Italian photographer, filmmaker, and director, pioneer of documentary cinema and film industry. He documented the First World War as a photojournalist, he experimented with all the most innovative shooting techniques, including Kinemacolor to reproduce colors, and he has been a reckless and adventurous witness of history in contact with the greatest exponents of the early Twentieth Century. Cineteca Milano preserves a batch of its precious films that it has digitally restored, as a fundamental heritage of Italian cinema. The purpose of Behind the Light is to educate the players, but also to entertain them through a series of challenges and mini-games through 6 chapters. The protagonist is Lidia, a university student working on her final thesis doing an apprenticeship on film restoration. She is a student of the Brera Academy, following the eviction of her old family home now sold, she comes into possession of her grandfather’s objects who she discovers to have been Comerio’s trusted assistant.
